To get the most from your skin care products, carefully follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for correct usage.

Simple changes can make the all the difference in your results and how satisfied you are with your products. Many people forget that the order of application is important. For example water based products (such as serums) are applied before creams. If both products are water-based (for example Advanced-C Serum and Skin Hydration Complex), the more active product (the serum) is applied first. These guidelines ensure maximum penetration of the product that offers the anti-aging effect.

In some cases, the time of day that you apply your products can be relevant. Cellex-C recommends that the ideal time to apply any of the topical Vitamin C creams or serums is during the day, as this is the time we are exposed to UVA and UVB rays. The time that we need the most protection from photo-aging is when we want to bathe the cells in anti-oxidant protection.

Pay attention to ALL the products that you are using. Many products that offer excellent results individually cannot be used back to back. For example all Cellex-C topical Vitamin C serums or creams cannot be applied immediately after a peel, or a mask containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Rather, use the Vitamin C products in the morning, and any type of peel or exfoliation treatment should be done later in the day or even in the evening. An example would be Cellex-C’s New Complexion Cream. This lightly moisturizing product is a leave-on exfoliation treatment in the form of a night cream. The next morning, the skin appears fresh and youthful, and after cleansing and toning, it is ready to accept the vitamin C serum or cream.

Topical vitamin C can tingle when you apply it, so remember that this is a normal sensation, however men may find that it is best not to apply it immediately after shaving. A drop of Hydra 5-B complex, followed by a soothing film of Seline-E cream completes the treatment ensuring the best penetration of your anti-aging products.
Another tip is to remember that more is not better. Apply only the amount of product that your skin can absorb, and keep any type of cream away from the eye area at night. Creams can migrate into the eye at night leading to puffiness and even irritation.

Frequency of use is another important consideration. For example, Cellex-C’s Fade Away Gel for Sun and Age Spots must be consistently applied twice daily for best results. Conversely, other Vitamin C products should be used once per day.
